I got a link to this forum so i'll write my problem here...My (old) account got hacked and the hacker merged it into his Battlenet account.. I had a break from WoW so I didn't notice fast. But then my friends told me that I was online.. But I didn't play. So I wanted to check it by logging on WoW but, then it said: This account have to be merged into a battlenet account.. So I clicked the link but then it just said: This account doesn't exist... And then the following days I got alot of mails about account management where it wanted me to click links to confirm and so I did, but nothing happened.. And I gave up try calling Blizzard be cause they didn't answer. And then i received a mail that said, If i don't confirm my account now, it will be closed because the hacker tried to sell it. (I guess thats illegal) The first time i confirmed it whit full name and such things but nothing happend. So, when I got the same mail again I didn't answer it because, then the account will be closed and I didn't have to pay for it anymore... It's been a while now so the account has been closed. So, that's my story! I hope someone can help me... But I don't think there is anything to do about it.. Unless blizzard can do something... :)

Hello there Whoopsi. I'm really sorry to hear about your bad experience my friend, but I don't want you to panic or get too disheartened. We are going to do all that we can to try to help you with this situation. Zelpher has already provided you with some excellent information and links, and I am just going to reiterate and highlight the main points. You should start here;

The part most relevant to your circumstances is the last FAQ;

Q u o t e:

Q. What’s Battle.net and how does it relate to why I can’t login?

A. In mid-November 2009 we introduced our unifying account platform Battle.net (http://eu.battle.net/) and asked players to merge their existing WoW accounts into this new system. Essentially this replaces your old login name with your Battle.net email address and allows you to use a single address to access any WoW accounts connected to it.

In some rare cases, previously unmerged accounts are sometimes connected to the Battle.net account of the player responsible for the account theft, preventing you from merging it to your own and logging in.

Should you find yourself in this situation don’t worry; it’s something that we can help you to correct, and you’ll need to follow the steps outlined in the Unable to Login (http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=12304393621&sid=1#3) section below.

This section will then point you to our webform, with details on how to go about filling it in. Once you have read through the information contained in the guide and sent the form then just sit back, relax and wait for a response from a customer support agent.

I also want to highlight one other section from our sticky;

The advice given in this section is invaluable and will go a long way to securing your account(s) and ensuring that this does not happen to you again.

Best of luck.
